Job Title: MAINT - Maintenance Mechanic I EEO Classification: Craft Workers
Department: Maintenance FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Position Summary: The maintenance Mechanic I position performs a wide variety of tasks including fabricating production fixtures and jigs, build and assembly of production equipment, repair and maintenance of production equipment and facility maintenance and repair. Will execute established PM’s, and maintain the tool and part inventory. The qualified candidate must be highly organized, detailed-oriented, solid in multi-tasking, capable of prioritizing, and able to positively and effectively communicate with their team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ability to carry out routine preventative maintenance on Mechanical and Electrical equipment. Reads and interprets equipment manuals, schematics, blueprints and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
2. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment
3. Builds, assembles, and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs
4. Assists in fabricating jig and fixtures
5. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs on facility including replacing lights, ballasts, a/c filters, plumbing, and minor repairs.
6. Pressure wash building, paint facility and maintain grounds
7. Ability to do light carpentry/woodworking.
8. Knowledge of OSHA safety, lockout - tag out procedures and SDS
9. Performs other inherent duties related, but not limited to, the above
Education and Experience Requirements
• High School diploma or GED Equivalent required
• 2+ years related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Must have knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance
• Drill press, band saw, scroll saw, miter saw, and hand power tools. Ability to operate milling and lathe machines a plus.
• Must have a working knowledge of equipment safety practices and procedures
• Must be able to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs
• Must have good electrical wiring and troubleshooting knowledge, experience with single and 3 phase circuits, and ability to use multimeter, amp meter and circuit finder
• Welding experience a plus
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specifications
• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization
• Must have valid Florida Drivers License
Physical Requirements
• Dexterity of shoulders, arm, hands, fingers, hips, legs and feet to operate equipment
• Visual acuity to perform job functions and to operate machinery and prepare and maintain reports
• Capabilities to bend at the waist, stoop, squat, stand, kneel, reach overhead for extended periods of time
• Must effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to work extended hours out of doors in a variety of weather conditions

Compensation: $20.00 per hour
